Romantic Summer Styled Wedding Shoot {Newark, Ohio Wedding Photographer} Dawes Arboretum

   I wanted to share with you the wedding styled shoot I had over the summer. I collaborated with local vendors in Newark and a wedding dress boutique in Columbus. All my vendors were SO fantastic to work with and I hope to work with them in the future. I put out a model call and received a dozen emails from couples wanting to model for me but when I seen Tommy and Alexis I thought they were so adorable. They were so great to work with and went along with anything and everything I needed or wanted. I am currently trying to get this styled shoot on a wedding blog and if that happens, I will definitely share it.

 2017 is going to be a busy year for me. I am only going to book four weddings in 2017 and since it is peak engagement season, it is important to book your wedding photographer early because they book fast. I would love to work with you!

2015 Apple Orchard Sessions {Legend Hills Orchard} Utica, OH

   Happy Wednesday, Friends! I know I said I wasn't going to blog the rest of last years sessions but I think I changed my mind (I'm aloud, right?). :) On October 17th, I had Apple Orchard sessions out at Legend Hills Orchard in Utica, Ohio. I love working with Legend Hills and we got some great shots. I worked with 11 families that day; some new families and some families I have shot in the past. {Family Session} Dawes Arboretum, Newark, OH

I shot this family at Dawes Arboretum in September. I am slowly attempting to catch up on blogging so hopefully you will see more then two sessions a week! Abby Reed- Ohio High School Senior Photography {Dawes Arboretum, Newark, OH}



  I love to shoot high school seniors. The thing I love about it is I only have one person to pose and I have more freedom to try new poses. I don't want all my sessions to look alike and so I try to think of new ideas and posing to mix it up.  Last year I had the privilege to shoot Abby's senior pictures out at Dawes Aboretum. She did a fabulous job in front of the camera. One of my favorite spots that we shot from this session was the field of yellow flowers. Abby was not too sure about that but she went along with it and ended up liking them :) Check out some pictures from her session below!

Peirano Family {Family Session} Dawes Arboretum, Newark Ohio

   Here is the sweet and fabulous Peirano family. I shot Will and Ashley's family pictures back in the spring and since then they have had a sweet baby girl. You can see their spring session here. It was a privilege for me to shoot Will's whole family. This was my first time shooting a family this big {except for weddings}. They did great and rocked it in front of the camera!














Murray Family {Family Session} Dawes Arboretum, Newark Ohio






This adorable family came to me over the summer for family pictures along with some one year shots of their little boy. Denise had some ideas of her own that she wanted me to try. I am all for clients bringing ideas and even props along with them and I try to incorporate them as best I can into their session. We had a great session and got some awesome shots.

Will + Stacey {Engagement Session} Creekside, Gahanna

      Happy New Year! I can't believe it is 2016. I am so behind on blog posts, guys. Through fall and winter, I was busy will fall and Christmas pictures so I didn't have time to blog between running my business and doing college. Since it is winter and I have slowed down, I am hoping to catch up on sessions. I usually always post sneak peeks on the Facebook page but no one sees more than five or six shots at the most. Blogging is a way to show you more pictures and update you on my business, life, etc. SO, in 2016 I am hoping to catch up on blogging and continue blogging on a more regular schedule {fingers crossed}.
       I had a great fall and Christmas season this year with photo shoots. I feel like every year my business grows more and more and I get to meet some amazing clients that I hope to work more with in the future. I love presenting portraits to clients and seeing a  Mom or Grandma's eyes fill up with tears. It's not like I want to make them cry but it shows how much they appreciate and love their images and reminds me how great of a job I have. I have had so many new clients this year through families, couples, and High School Seniors. 
   Speaking of couples, here is a couple that I had the privilege of capturing their engagement and wedding photos in 2015. Stacey contacted me at the beginning of 2015 and we met and talked over all my wedding prices, etc. I was so happy she book and I enjoyed shooting their engagement pictures at Creekside Park in Gahanna. I will be putting up a wedding blog at some point. Thanks, Will and Stacey, for letting me be apart of such a special day. I wish you all the very best!

Mercedes Eckard- 2016 Senior Representative {Bryn Du Mansion} Newark, OH

Hey friends!
    I know. I am way behind on blogging sessions from the summer and now fall. Fall is a busy time for me but I am happy because the leaves provide me with a beautiful, colorful backdrop to capture my fabulous clients on.
    Here is my very first 2016 Senior Rep, Mercedes Eckard. I shot her session that supplied her with Rep stuff in August. I know. I am awful for just now blogging but I wanted to share her shoot with everyone. Blogging gives me a away to show all my followers my sessions and not just by the sneak peeks I usually post on my Facebook page that usually consists of 3 or 4 pictures from each shoot. Although I don't share ALL of the images, I usually pick the best/favorite shots from the shoots.

Whitesides Mommy & Me Session { Newark, Ohio}


Hey Friends! 
   Here is a session from Mommy and Me sessions in May. This was my first time to shoot twins and it was such a fun experience. Yes, one of the babies was sick that day because he was teething but I think these pictures turned out great. Mom and her boys look fabulous!
   One thing I love is to see my customers happy when they come and view their pictures. I usually schedule each customer's view and order session, a session where they can see their pictures for the first time, the very next week after their photo session. My best experience so far is having a Grandma cry while looking over her final images. It was a good feeling knowing that I gave her memories to last a lifetime.

Newark Ohio 2016 High School Senior Representatives

    Hey guys! So I wanted to write today about my senior representative program. Sometimes senior pictures can cost a ton of money. I know every parent wants to have their graduate's senior pictures taken. My Senior Rep Program is a great way for YOUR graduate to get their high school senior pictures done with a FREE session.

Here is how it works:

Requirements:
·         First time senior models only – cannot have previously taken pictures with another senior photographer.
·         Must be a senior graduate of 2016
·         Must be energetic, outgoing and comfortable in front of a camera (no modeling experience required).
·         Must be in good academic standing.
·         Agree to ONLY represent J. Dawn Photography your whole senior year and not use any other photographer except J. Dawn Photography.
·         Must have an active Facebook page you can use at all times.
·         You will need to sign a Senior Rep contract and Modeling Release.
·         You must use one of the three Facebook images that you will be supplied with for your whole senior year watermarked with J. Dawn Photography logo.
·         Must have your parents/guardian sign a model release, no exceptions.
·         Parental consent is required to participate!
·         A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to hold your spot as a J. Dawn Photography Representative!
If no one comes to me with your rep card and books a session, then you will not be able to receive your free deluxe session, 20% off print orders, or $20 in cash.

What’s in it for your graduate?
·         Free 45 minute photo session at one of my outdoors locations {$35 value} in the summer to supply you with pictures for your rep cards and Facebook pictures. {15-25 images}
·         25 rep cards to pass out to your friends
